A unique educational program for the employees of the “Springs”, LLC

The project of the Izhevsk State Technical University on developing the educational program adapted to staffing requirements of the “Springs”, LLC won the competition arranged by the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs in the field of education.  

The joint project of the Izhevsk State Technical University and the “Springs”, LLC won another competition of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs on developing the educational programs in the field of nanotechnologies.

The educational program to be implemented by the Izhevsk State Technical University on order of the “Springs”, LLC is aimed at developing the professional retraining program and teaching materials, with the focus on the investment project on setting up the mass production of the super strong springs using the technology of controlled homogeneous nano-substructures formation in material.

Five categories of specialists from the springs-producing enterprise will participate in the pilot program - process engineers, finance department and industrial personnel, IT-specialists and specialists on marketing, sales and procurement, 52 people altogether. The educational program will consists of approximately 600 teaching hours and provide for classroom as well as practical training, namely the in-depth training at the Russian and Finnish enterprises. The representatives of the Izhevsk State Technical University and other educational institutions, including the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Institute of Applied Mechanics (Ural Branch of RAS) will be involved in training.  
    
The program consists of three stages. At present (starting from March 25) the first stage is being realized, in course of which competence of each employee is evaluated via admission tests for the more appropriate arrangement of the teaching process. From July 1 practical training at the enterprises will be started, from September to April 30 training will be carried on. At the end of training every student will have to do a qualification paper.

The Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs was formed through reorganization of the state corporation “Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies” for the purpose of creating the nanotechnology infrastructure and realization of educational programs.

From 2010 to 2015 the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs plans to invest up to 19,6 billion rubles in the creation of 19 nanocentres. By May 2011 6 nanocentres have already been approved for funding. The Fund’s educational activities comprise retraining and professional development programs, primarily tailored for the employees of the “Rusnano” OJSC project companies. By May 2011 the number of educational programs has reached 43, providing training for more than 1300 people.
